Using Mass Downloader you can download individual files (or lists of files) from the Web and FTP sites at the maximum available speed and also browse Zip archives before loading them and to choose only the desired files to download.
Features: MetaProducts Mass Downloader (MD) works in the Windows 9x/NT/2000/ME/XP/Vista. A program that allows you to download an unlimited number of your favorite Web, HTTPS and FTP sites for later offline viewing, editing, viewing or browsing. RTSP, PNM and MMS downloads are supported. It has several web development features also. Edit, view, browse or search the downloaded pages- it has an internal browser. You can include/exclude individual servers, directories and files using keywords. It can download at optimum speeds and can even look into zip archives to select the files required to be downloaded.
The mass downloader has a nice user interface and one of the fastest known Web site downloaders. It supports industry-standard technologies such as FTP, different proxy servers, Java and VB scripts, Java classes, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) Macromedia Flash, XML/XSL/DTD, Table Of Contents (TOC,) Acrobat (PDF,) M3U, AAM files, RealMedia (.SMIL, .RAM, .RPM), MS NetShow Channel (.NSC) VRML (.WRL, .WRZ,) QuickTime movies (.MOV) and cookies etc. It has a built in web server that allows you to share downloaded files over an Intranet. An export feature allows you to copy downloaded sites to another location in different formats. The interface has Office 2007 ribbon navigation. You are able to mark projects by color and arrange them in tabs. Downloaded files are indexed soon after download so that later searches would be efficient. Status bar shows a download speed indicator. BitTorrent downloads are supported.
Overall: This is an excellent tool that can save a lot of hassles in Internet surfing as well as sharing web sites over internal net. Along with the available editing features, it would be very tempting to use the downloaded material for your own publication. But beware of copyright issues though.
